Stencil Play Papers Talk to Me and Giveaway Winner

Video Using Stencil Play Paper with Sizzix Moon die to make a card by Carolyn Dube

I had a piece of messy playful stencil paper that I had just made that was calling to me. Before you ask, yes, the paper did talk to me. When the paint and paper talk I have learned to listen!

I captured how I made this paper and how I used it to get out of my head and into my creative mind/heart for a bonus video for my workshop Stencil Play.

The stencils used are Stitch a Doily, Spinners, and Wonky Eyeballs.

Class officially starts on Monday but I’m not a calendar kind of person it seems.  I posted a bonus lesson on Saturday (could’t wait until Monday)  and the class is yours forever so it can start whenever you want it to start.   And to think I taught calendar time for 10 years to 2nd graders….

StencilPlay150LogoAnd as long as I am having calendar issues I thought I would extend the early bird price another week.  I have had so many people ask me to extend it due to paydays  (which I understand all too well) that I am extending it for everyone.   You can find all the details about Stencil Play here.

In this quick video you can see how I built this card with the Crescent Moon and Stars die from Sizzix and Tim Holtz and used my Xyron 850 (it’s still going strong all these years later!) to make a mixed media card.

You can watch Using stencil paper with a sizzix die on YouTube here.

And the winner of a free spot in my workshop, Stencil Play is  Cindy Barriga!  If you have already purchased the workshop I’ll refund it to you or you can give it to a friend!  Be on the lookout for my email Cindy!

I just signed up for the Stencil Play Workshop. The 18 lessons came to less than $3.30 apiece (22 cents a minute) and well, that’s just too irresistible.

Work is taking up ALL of my weekday days and nights, but I like the idea that I will be able to watch forever and re-watch whenever, and so on and so on.

I’m VERY excited to be “joining” you for this, and well, the new moon and stars video was just what I needed to see to make the decision to sign up.

Anyone else? Remember: You can’t “make” the time. You have to “take” it. =)

It is absolutely true that paper speaks, that your angels will nudge you to choose certain ideas, and it is always with you. I can remember looking at a page I was creating and I felt someone tell me what was missing or what needed to be changed. It directed me toward images. I tell you, Carolyn, I think it was Picasso. I’ve painting and studied him. He is my favorite. I kept this moment to myself until I heard my art teacher express the same phenomena at a lecture about his work before a very stodgy group of people in a fancy hotel in NYC. I was stunned. I thought I was going crazy to believe that the art would inform me and teach me but now I know it is true. It is what you fill your mind with. If you fill it with images of art and beauty it will respond to your needs.
