I had a quote by Elizabeth Gilbert that I was stenciling into my journal with a pen. I was looking at the words and was so lost in the moment that I lost track of the actual words.OOPS! Silly part is I didn’t notice until after I was coloring it in!

Using the Open Ended alphabet stencil, I wrote a quote from Elizabeth Gilbert (Big Magic) on a blank page in my journal. “Create whatever causes a revolution in your heart.” There was room for more than one quote so I grabbed another one..but what exactly it was is a bit of mystery due to the OOPS.
Here’s what I wrote and you can extrapolate the meaning from it…”The rest of itself you can start whever you decide”
You would have thought that using the ruler would have led to the O.O.P.S., but it didn’t. I didn’t actually measure anything with the ruler so explains why it went smoothly for me. With a paint brush about the width of the letters, I used watercolors to color each word.
This is an art journal, so it called for some journaling. I wrote all around the words that called to me with a fountain pen. What did I write? Some was laughing at my spelling, some of it was the thoughts sparked by the quotes, and some of it was random ideas that popped into my head.

Today I was working on my cardboard journal, trying to get a bunch done before leaving on a trip. Yes, I created a little stress for myself. As I stamped a large robin in the middle of a page, I noticed that I got it upside down. I didn’t treat it as an opportunity, darn it. I had just glued a gelli-print on the cardboard and I wasn’t happy with my glue job either – so I ribbed it off; found another suitable print and started over again. Moral for today – don’t rush it.

Hi Carolyn Dube: No matter what the play for the day is, I know I’m gonna have a good time watching your videos. You are such an enabler–just my kind of person! I bought all the stuff to make the splotters and got in on the Mary Beth Shaw birthday stencils. Of course I just sent in my order and all my codes when I hopped on a couple of your (let’s fix this) videos again and just wanted to smack myself in the head for my latest OOPS. I wanted to buy the longitude and latitude globe stencil. Along with my brain tumor removal they gave me a spelling book but I came really close to calling it the l & l globe. I’m working my way thru your stencils and I’m having a ball with the silly walk stamp and your once upon a time stencil. I think I have around 10-12 of your stencils with today’s order. Of course while I was on TJ site I had to snatch up the ” Do I look like an ATM” to make cards for my grand-daughters and”I called in sick my arm was in a cast stamp” for dh and a couple more stamps. If it’s true whoever has the most stamps wins then I’m trying my best. Thanks for all you do. I absolutely love your whole teaching style and permission to play.
