Leftover Scraps Become a Mixed Media Card

Using Leftover Scraps to make a mixed media card

Cleaning.  It’s a bad word in my world. I will do just about anything to avoid doing it and for good reason.  Sometimes inspiration strikes from the messes of other projects, like it did here!

These bits and pieces have been floating around here for a while and instead of tossing them into the trash, I decided to turn them into a quick collaged card, mixed media style.

In the video, you’ll see where I almost left it with an abundance of white space but that urge passed!

Watch Leftover Scraps Become a Mixed Media Card on YouTube.

The BE was stenciled from my Uplifting Words stencil from StencilGirl Products onto deli paper.  Love deli paper because the thin kinds will just disappear once they are glued down with something like gel medium.

always like to see fun scrap projects. i have a whole drawer of stuff i stash away and open when i don’t quite know what to do next. such fun to re-discover the treasures.
just watched the first video you made with your husband. he is such a good sport to do it because he seems pretty nervous about being in front of the camera. please tell him he did a great job picking the journal. i am looking forward to the next installment.

I have trouble with hoarding scraps! I need to pull them out and make cards… thanks for the inspiration!

Hello – August 29th is almost here – it is a bank holiday over here in the UK – so hopefully will be able to get the early bird discount. I am still working my way through Permission to Play and have booked on a face to face course with Dyan Reaveley. So certainly revving up to have a messy time. As for scraps, I have had to put a size restriction on them to keep them anything smalled than that goes in the bit, otherwise I would be over-run with scraps.
