I Never Know What Crazy Story Will Show Up

I was playing with paint and stencils on cardboard and a story appeared

The way a piece of art play starts does not always give me an hint as to where it will go.  As was the case with this piece of cardboard and paint…who knew this would end up being Marie Antoinette on a gameshow?

I am just playing around on cardboard so there isn’t any pressure to make it anything…those of you who have taken my free workshop, Permission to Play can spot all the ways I am letting myself play in this blog post!  (There is still time to get in the free workshop too!)

The dress on her called to me.  No clue how she fit into where this was going but I loved that dress.  She is from a digital kit from  itKuPilli Imagenarium Funderful at MischiefCircus.com and applied with Craft Attiude and a glue stick.  You can see how to use Craft Attitude in this blog post and video.

As I flipped through stencils, a word jumped out at me – Choose from my Uplifting Words stencil. Once I had choose on there  all that kept going through my head was Marie on a gameshow trying to pick which door had the best prize behind it…so out came Seth Apter’s Numbers stencil.

Which door would she chose?  Would it be door number one, number two or number 3? And then what are the prizes behind each door…my mind was having a blast with the possibilities.

Next I wanted texture, oh I wanted texture.  So I grabbed the purple Prills from USArtQuest.

And here I thought  I was all done…but when I saw it later…I realized I wasn’t finished with it…and that’s okay…I am allowed to change my mind! She was missing something very important to me.

Scribble journaling!  As long as I had the Pico embellisher out, I added more outlines to Choose and the doors before I journaled.

All finished now…or at least I think she’s finished but I keep thinking about all the possibilities of what would be behind each door…what do you think  would be behind these as prizes worthy of Marie?
