Art Journaling Off The Page & On Canvas

My art journaling is off the page and on the canvas this week.  I am excited that I left so much white space here since I rarely seem to do that! Every time I thought about adding something it only detracted from it so that told me it was complete.

I’m working with a painfully slow internet connection today. I think Fred and Barney are in the back peddling as fast as they can to get the internet to work….Keeping this short so I can spend the next hour trying to get it to upload.  I won’t ever take my high speed internet for granted again!

Linking up with Art Journal Every Day,  Out of the Journal 2012, Paint Party Friday, and Creative Every Day.  Stop on by these great places to see all these talented people getting creative!

This is just so beautiful, Carolyn. I sometimes have difficulty with white space, too, but in this case…definitely…less is more. Your figure just pops!

I love the colors and the way the girl looks like she is really enjoying herself. Or maybe she could be a singer on stage. I really like the way she looks.

This is so fascinating! I see something different every time I look at it. . . . singing in the rain; a rising curtain; a Goddess conjuring up a storm. Love it!

I love the white space and drips. I am terrible with leaving white space. I am trying to leave more areas for the eyes to rest. Such joyous vibrant colours.

  • Annette G August 24, 2012, 3:13 am

Lovely drips and colours. To leave white spaces is certainly really difficult so you must be very proud of yourself. Happy PPF, Annette x

  • Faye August 24, 2012, 9:39 am

Carolyn, I love the color combination. I think this would make a fabulous dress fabric by repeating the pattern over and over. My computer is painfully slow today too.

  • Linda K August 24, 2012, 5:22 pm

Oh how I LOVE the spirit of this piece!!! as another commenter said it looks as tho she’s joyfully dancing in the rain. I was told one time that I needed to really play and be free more, jump in the rain… so now (sometimes even in the cold)I will splash my feet in a puddle in the rain and speak my gratitude. This beautiful art has touched my heart-thank you.
