Like interesting people, interesting patterns have lots of layers. Using every drop of spray paint on the stencil gave me 2 very different looks from one stencil as the layers built up.
Immediately after generously spraying the Crossword stencil with Liquitex spray paint I picked up the stencil and flipped it over onto another piece of paper for the ghost image. I added each layer randomly so that nothing would line up.

I spent an afternoon playing in the sun with spray paints and can’t wait to do it again! Time seemed to stand still and I let myself get lost in the color and play. I just couldn’t stop…okay…I could have but didn’t want to stop. I gave into the addiction of spray painting.
I’d love to know what supply/tools you play with that should be labeled as creatively addictive?

Carolyn I can’t decide which one looks better the layered or the reversed layered, I guess I just love both of them! You are so lucky having sun today we had pouring rain, would be funny to stand outside to play with paint, but that’s also an idea that we should try one day! 🙂

I have been very happy with them so far Judy…I used to use whatever WalMart had and was often disappointed in the color choices. Love the Liquitex color choices!

I am addicted to my dylusions ink sprays in purple, pink and green. I will randomly spray two/three on a page, or use one of my stencils. I also like to do a light cover of a watercolor paint and spray the inks over top.
Spray inks are a total addiction for me too Teresa!
The reverse side was once considered waste–to be wiped away. Today, it is considered art–demonstrated so beautifully by you here, Carolyn!
Love these prints, and LOVE my spray paints. Looking forward to a warm day so I can have that kind of extended play. Indoors I’m more of a quick sprayer… outdoors, have at ’em!
