I love globes so the moment I saw the round Gelli Plate I knew I had to give it a go! The pattern on the “water” is from my stencil, Wonky Eyeballs.

Use Your Words Stencil by Carolyn Dube

 

I adore using words in my art and art journaling so it is no surprise I designed Use Your Words for StencilGirl Products.

This is not one stencil but really many stencils that can be used alone or together. I use this as one big stencil in my play but I also use just parts of it.  Today’s video shows you how I use just one or 2 words.

I keep a big piece of paper on my counter to catch the messes.  After a while, I begin to really like the blotter paper as it fills up with spills, splatters, and other colorful messes.

Here’s what it looks like with 2 of the words from Use Your Words and acrylic paint.  I used a bit of white Stabilo pencil to lighten up the dark purple parts of the letters.

Painting this one word at a time allows me to put the words in any order I want or combine any words I want.

Not quite as messy a section of the blotter paper, but still plenty of color and mess happening here!

Here it is with the black pen sketching around it.  It is a Signo micro pen of some kind from the office store.

I love the way the bits of color peek through the letters in freedom!

Spray Inks and a Stencil in An Art Journal

Not everything that is created has to take lots of time because there isn’t always lot of time available in a busy day.  I’m sure I am not the only person who wishes there were 48 hours in a day!

This was a quick art journal page made while playing around with Cecilia Swatton’s Marbles 6 stencil from StencilGirl Products.  I’m not the only one playing with Cecilia’s stencils- it’s a hop!

I used Dylusions spray inks with Cecilia Swatton’s Marbles 6 stencil  to fill the page.  Thought it was going to be a background but nope- the muse took me a different way…

I cut the page into circles and I instantly saw bubbles rising up from deep in the sea.

There had to be little fish swimming around the giant bubbles so out came Aidan’s School Stencil  with some acrylic paint.

A bit of colored pencil around the circles and a bit of handwriting to finish it off.
