Video tutorial using Dylusions spray inks and a stencil by Carolyn Dube

A bit of Dylusions spray inks and a stencil, Use Your Words, brought a touch color to my art journal.  In the video, you’ll see how I used the back of the stencil to get these words onto my page.  One of the great things about Dylusions is how it reacts to water and did I ever use that to my advantage to get the color on this page!

This isn’t just any old art journal page…it’s an Artsy Fartsy art journal page!  I’m playing with Maria McGuire and my stencil, Use Your Words.  What’s Artsy Fartsy?  It’s a way that Maria and I have some creative time together even though we live miles and miles apart.  She’s been secretly using the stencil too and I have no idea what she’s made as I write this post.  I don’t get to see or hear about what she’s making until it goes live on her blog.  As soon as I publish this I am off to see what she made here.

You can watch Artsy Fartsy art journal play with spray ink and a stencil on YouTube here.

You can find out more about our Artsy Fartsy adventures here and you can search for past Artsy Fartsy posts by using the Categories drop down menu over at the bottom of the sidebar.

Video tutorial showing how to use a stencil, fabric, and a Gelli print to make an ornament by Carolyn Dube

This little  stenciled ornament should be called Oops.  Why?  Because there was one after the other while I was making this using Sue Pelletier’s Loose Dress stencil over at StencilGirl.  This was supposed to be a little purse/bag to give as a gift…then an Oops happened so that wasn’t possible…My carefully thought out plan went out the window pretty quickly…

You can watch Making an ornament out of a stencil, fabric and Gelli prints on YouTube here.

Want to see more of Sue’s stencils in action?  There are lots of great ideas in this hop!  And you know there’s a giveaway over on StencilGirl Talk.  Best part- every comment you leave on every blog in the hop is a chance to win.  One comment per blog please (but you probably guessed that).  The giveaway will end on Monday, December 16th at 11:59PM Central Time.

Using Artist Trading Blocks by Eileen Hull for Sizzix by Carolyn Dube

Have you heard of Artist Trading Blocks?  These ATB’s are full of possibilities that let you create 3D!  This 15 blog hop will show you just some of the possibilities.

How’d I make that ATB?  It’s a die designed by Eileen Hull for Sizzix that will released in January.  You can see more ATB’s on their website here.

It was so easy to use StencilGirl stencils on it since it is wonderfully flat.   I put a random assortment of stencils all over it, added a touch of rubber stamping, and then white washed it all with gesso.  Just a bit of doubled sided tape and it was a perfect cube.

Once I had the box finished I attached the body parts.  The legs were made with another Sizzix die, the Garden Fairy.  The head and arms were doll parts I’ve had in a drawer for too long.  The ATB character needs a name.  Love to hear your ideas!
