I reached out to some of the companies whose products I used in the videos and I was blown away by their generosity! This is going to be one very big and heavy box of mixed media goodies heading to one lucky winner!

I would love to share these supplies with my disabled friends who cannot afford art supplies at the adult day center where I work. I won a book “Mixed Media with Found Objects” took it to heart and we made collages with found objects and left overs from other projects. They turned out so cool. I took photos if anyone would like to see them privately. Hope this is my lucky day for this lovely batch of goodies.

I sure would love to win the giveaway! I teach art journaling classes at Impressive Ideas in Atlanta Georgia. We had a devastating fire in May and the store was totally destroyed. My cart with all my supplies was lost. The store is in a temporary space and hope to be reopening in October or early November and I am looking forward to teaching classes again. I took them to the deco art website to look at stencils and media paints that we could sell when the store reopens. Winning this bunch of goodies would definitely help me start teaching again. Wow. Big commercial partnerships. Always wonder about these things. You know, who’s using whom? As cool as this offer is, I just think that this sort of marketing dilutes the art… which is why I visit this blog. You’re a super cool lady but this sort of thing screams BUY ME instead of create. Sad really. You need to make a living. These companies are looking for free/low cost advertising so they can pay their employees. So, yeah, it’s a free winner takes all, rah rah. The thing is artists who sell art don’t do this shit. Their blogs are about their work, not ads for products. Real turn off for me. I’m sure someone will be over the moon to have THE supplies that will make their art just like yours. This should be about creativity, Carolyn. …Sigh.

I am hoping these supplies, techniques and ideas will loosen up my paltry mixed media skills. Also hope that I can begin to feel confident about trying these materials and techniques with my students. It’s a fascinating process!

Carolyn – now I’m “on a roll”….since I myself am a legally blind artist with “tunnel vision” just 5 degrees in the center field, I’m thinking gelli plate printing could be introduced to many others with visionloss who can still perceive bright colors! This would be a super opportunity to create something “outside the box” in recreation activities for the visually impaired! Also, other artists who’ve encountered partial blindness but desire to live their art! HOW SUPER!
