Find Punchinella at Home Depot!

Home Depot is filled with treasures!  While strolling through the aisles I found Easy Joint Tape.  It looks just like punchinella only it is made from paper.  Oh, how many times I have been using my Mylar punchinella and loved how the paints and inks looked on it.  Now I have disposable punchinella – less than $10 for 200 feet!  And it is self adhesive.  I feel like a little kid at Christmas!

I decided to color it using water color crayons.  I scribbled on it, spritzed with water, and swooshed a brush around.  Not only was the joint tape covered there was a great start to a background under it!

How fun that you are a Carol! I so rarely find others with our name! I’ll have to more with Punchinella for you – it is a fantastic way to add color. This is a Home Depot version – the art versions are made from Mylar and do not hold water color paint this well.

Don’t you love that stuff! Try modeling past through it–makes you not feel guilty about throwing the good stuff away 🙂 Love it for adding texture in my art journal.

Fabulous idea! Unfortunately, none of the hardware stores in my area carry paper tape. All I can find is fiberglass mesh tape. Would there happen to be a web address on the package anywhere? I’ve done an internet search, but I haven’t had any luck finding it. thanks so much!

The packaging from the paper tape is long gone- I have tried to find it on hardware store web sites before and have not been able to do so. I have heard from others who couldn’t find it at one hardware store but then it would show up at the next one. It seems to be hit or miss in some areas. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

I searched all over the internet for places to get this particular tape. I never imagined there were so many ‘joint tapes’…but none like this one. I finally found 1 (the ad said “1 left”) on EBay….I ordered it and it arrived today. I hope everyone finds it, but it seems to be very scarce. Looks like it’s going to be fun to use.
