December’s Colorful Gelli Print Party

Gelli Printing Tutorial for Decebmer's Colorful Gelli Print Party with Carolyn Dube Gelli Plate Tutorial

December already?  Time sure does fly when I’m having fun…especially this time of year! This month’s Gelli Plate tutorial  is all about using hot glue and circles.  You can find the round Gelli Plate here.

When I have used found lids in the past they made very thin lines on the Gelli Plate- and I like that look but I also wanted to be able to make thicker lines.  So adding some hot glue to them gave me the thicker lines that dramatically changed the look of the circles from the lids!

You can watch A Colorful Gelli Print Party December on YouTube here.

  • Carol, I always enjoy your sense of humor. I tried to post a gelli print but don’t know if I did it correctly. Let me know if it is wrong. It looks like it links back to my web page. Not real good at all this technical stuff but have to keep trying…Right!!

    • Carolyn ,

Sent you an email about this- we’ll figure it out!

  • Here is a ghost print I made using my gelli plate and some circles I cut out of heavy plastic sheeting. I love to experiment with different paints so I used Color Wash Sprays for this print. It gave a very different looking print when I compared it to a print made with acrylics. Used a stencil as well. I think it was a Dylusion stencil….Gelli Plating Great Fun… Try it and you will be hooked.

  • Hope it didn’t hurt when I “pinned” you, Carolyn! I have to say, yours is one of my most active boards lately! I love the idea of hot gluing my lids and various circles. Thanks for that great tip!!

  • Carolyn, Here is my second try. Hope this one works. Had so much fun with my Gelli plate I had to get the round one. If I can get this posting process down I will send some of my attempts at using the round plate. Your fellow Gelli plater….LOL

  • I think I have it down now. This Gelli print I called Ameba. I already put the description above on my second comment so won’t write it again. I used the first print for a mixed media piece. I love how you can use your prints to get some very interesting elements for your art projects. I have trouble sleeping at night sometimes when I start thinking of all the ways I want to use my gelli prints.

  • Kathy Gledsdale ,

So pretty, I so look forward to you videos, they are such fun.

  • Leslie ,

I MUST get a gelli print thingy. I LOVE the look so much!!!

  • Here is another favorite of mine. I called it “Monet”. I don’t name every gelli print I do just the one’s I plan on using in a painting. If you would like to know how I got this print you can go to my web page where I posted it with a short description of my process and paints I used.
    Thanks Carolyn for sharing….

  • I am trying to resist the temptation to get that round plate. It is killing me!! I did an ornament tutorial with the packing tape technique, which I absolutely love. SO SHINY.

  • Super trick with the glue circles!

  • Love the idea of thickening the lid circles with hot glue – very clever!!

  • Rinda ,

I’m really thinking about asking for a gelli plate for Christmas – and it will be partly your fault! LOL!
    Thanks for the inspiration,
    Rinda

  • Love the pink and all the grungy bits of leftover paint around the edges, my favorite part….now I’ve got to get out that round plate and find some time to play. xox

  • Just getting started. I can’t wait to see what everyone else is doing! Happy December, everyone!!!

  • Just got a Christmas card finished using my gelli prints. You have totally inspired me to use my gelli prints in my craft projects. Hope I can get the link correct this time. If you don’t see my card posted you know I failed….OK here goes. Also I wanted to thank everyone for their sweet comments on my gelli prints. I appreciate you all. Kindly, Barbie

  • What a great idea to make thicker lines with the glue gun…. THIS (and so much more of your ideas 🙂 ) I’ll have to try 🙂 Have a nice december week….

  • Took quite a break from Gelli play over the holidays but now ready to get back into it 🙂 DS saw the canvas I made for Hubby and wants one too. Always a danger with handmade gifts….

    Happy Gelli Holidays!

Thanks for all the inspiration this year – looking forward to many more Gelli party fun in 2014!
