My Art Journal Was My Therapist

Art journal therapy helped me solve a problem - Carolyn DubeI had something I had to work out so I had a session with my most trusted therapist, my art journal.

Art journal therapy helped me solve a problem - Carolyn DubeWhen I am caught up in the mess of the emotions I don’t see things terribly clearly.  Today, I calmed myself down with some paint and stencils.

Then some scribble journaling, in white pencil on this page, helped me sort things out and find the answers I need.

I wanted clarity…my art journal provided that (and it makes it much easier for me to justify new art supplies since it is for mental health…).

And that problem that felt like a mountain before I arted – thankfully now is just a molehill.

I love that you do this. I have a couple of journals going and some times work things out without realizing I had something to work out. Weird huh? Live all your posts.

Very well said and a beautiful way to deal with daily life. Although I don’t do much art journaling, I create every day. It’s my therapy. Thank you for sharing yourself with us!

Great journal page! I love that you scribble journal. When I am an emotional mess I start off with the journaling then (partially) cover with paint. I love how yours looks on top of the paint!

Art keeps me grounded. i want to create all day, every day. So I agree about it being therapeutic. I think my art keeps me sane. (My DH may not agree on that one…..lol!)

I wish I could afford to take this class but that does not mean I don’t a[appreciate your work. It does make me want to try my hand at the challenge . Thank you for making me excited to continue learning how to do new Gelli arts.
