A Teenage Day

What a day! I am finally making progress on the piece I have been working on!  Here’s a peek at it. It is almost finished and I am loving the process again.  Strange, I don’t like the stuck parts but I love it when it starts to come together!  If someone looked into my windows as I make this they would think I am off my rocker with all the loud music and dancing around like a teenager with no rhythm or sense of music.  But I am having fun!

Speaking of teenagers, here is what my youngest said to me this morning, “Mom, if you see a used tissue, before you throw it out you should squish it to see if my retainer is in there.”  Turns out I tossed her new clear plastic retainer in the trash last night.  “Yuck, I will not squish used tissues, ” was my response.  She is going to be cleaning her room to search for the retainer case.  I think this is exactly why they gave her a case, but what do I know…

Glad someone else dances around, now I DON’T FEEL so alone….no retainers here anymore, but what a story, squishy tissues were never my fave. Great pink page and NOW yup, NOW. xox

Boy does this sound familiar. My son threw his retainer away by accident when he ate at a fast food restaurant. I’m glad he’s done with those retainer days. I like the way you made art out of real life.

I was looking through your earlier posts and oh how inspired I am to paint now. You make such beautiful messes, oh sorry, I mean art! 🙂 Glad you are getting un-stuck!

after I finished laughing at your story I was reminded of when my sister had her retainer sitting on the back of the toilet (yes, dumb teenager move) and sure enough it fell in. She had to reach in and get it and then brushed it for over an hour, soaked it, and still was reluctant to put it back in her mouth but she had to! love the sneak peek of your piece!

Your teenage story made me LOL! And your WIP made me smile. I love the birds and the way the green pops.

Ah teenagers….I’m so glad that’s behind me! Now they’re grown up and come with a whole different set of issues – but at least I’m not asked to find everything! 🙂
Love your sneak peek – looking forward to seeing it done…

Can’t wait to see the rest of your art, I certainly like what I am seeing so far. I remember those retainer days too, glad I don’t have to go through them anymore.

I am loving this painting, and the full painting above. So colorful and happy! Love the teen story. I am getting close to having a couple of teens myself. I am actually so looking forward to teens and so wanting to get over the tots! 😀
