Pitt Pens are great because they don’t run when wet, but there is a quick way to create a soft look with them.

1.  Write on glass or a non-stick craft mat & spray with water. You might remember this from a previous post…

2.  Then just set your paper in it.  I used a page from a vintage ledger to create a soft and gentle watercolor look.  When I use real watercolors the colors blend together and create just 1 blended color but with the Pitt pens I can see the different colors.  This is very serendipitous – each time it is different.  Each type of paper reacts differently.

I made a background with alcohol inks and blending solution.  The only problem was I really didn’t like it much.  Not sure why I didn’t like it, but I didn’t.  Once I added a few words, it became my favorite page in a long, long time!  I have been wanting to journal about Inspired but the right page hadn’t come along – until now!

Christy Tomlinson has a wonderful class, 3 Hearts.  It is a huge value!   There are days and days  worth of videos filled with art journaling ideas.  Her videos are not just ideas – it feels like you are a friend who is sitting next to her.  She is so very generous with her techniques and ideas!

I have lots of alcohol inks but they haven’t been used in quite a while – until now. I made a background using a couple of colors.  Then I used the blending solution to write a word.  Let it sit for a minute or so, then roll a paper towel across it to remove the blending solution.  Then you’ll really see your word pop!

If you are a perfectionist then this is not the best way to write!  I didn’t plan to dot the r and u, but the blending solution just dripped and poured.  You can do splots, splashes, words, scribbles, anything!
