The shipping…I feel terrible that this was only for the continental US due to shipping costs.  I recently had to go through heck and high water to get washi tape from Japan and I didn’t like it one bit that so many shops wouldn’t ship to the US.  That’s why usually I will ship to anywhere but on this one…well…it is so dang heavy it was make a car payment or pay shipping if it was out of country.  But the creativity of some to find a way around this restriction was quite inspiring!

  • I live in Quebec, Canada and I want to participate please to this wonderful Giveaway !!  Thanks for offering us this HUGE gift Carolyn !!  Thank you so much !!  In order to participate, I’m 120% willing to pay for all the shipping costs. It’s nothing compare to the price of these wonderful Mixed Media items !!  Please, please, please…. Let me participate… It would be my dream to do !!! – Valerie

The fun from the play at a Gelli printing® workshop with Carolyn Dube

After taking a solemn oath of OOPS, 20 brave women embarked on a day of play in Gelli® Printing: Easy as 1-2-3.   The workshop was held inside a spacious and inviting old home at the Arts Alliance in Mason, Ohio.

These women were more than just willing to play, they were a blast!  Lots and lots of laughter all day long!

Lots of play too!   They were all game to try new techniques and step out of the comfort zone!

Looking over everyone’s shoulders as they played gave me a bird’s eye view of the colors and prints – such a treat to see it all!

The proof we were playing? Not only the prints but our hands too!

This wouldn’t have been possible at all if it weren’t for Glenda Miles, the amazing hostess of the event.  She created such a amazing environment with all her special touches that this one day workshop had the feel of a getaway retreat!  She made her very first print ever and I think she’s hooked!

You probably guessed I didn’t use browns much at all, but I can appreciate someone else’s stunning print with browns.

There were prints filling every table…even stacked on the tables too!

What could possibly lead to this look on my face?  It had to be a question about how I clean something….since I do that so rarely I have to really focus to answer it lol!

Thank you, each and every one of you, for sharing your day, your play, and your journey with me.  If you’re in the Cincinnati area, there are a couple of amazing workshops coming up in this fantastic space that Glenda has put together: one with Ken Oliver and one with Cheryl Strait!

She's got a video showing to do copper foiling creating art journal style cards! with StencilGirl stencils and USArtQuest!

What’s the play for today?  I’m going mixed media card making today with goodies from  USArtQuest  and StencilGirl Products for a blog hop! You probably know that blog hop means giveaway so be sure to check out the details at the end.

In the video, you see me make the very careful and precise background with the Perfect Pigment paints.  Okay…not careful at all! And I wasn’t careful with the Duo adhesive through Mary Beth Shaw’s Little Eddy Rose stencil.  And I wasn’t careful doing the leafing.  Noticing a theme?  I wasn’t precise in any way and had such fun playing!

Watch  Stencils and copper leaf mixed media cards on YouTube.

The way the copper leafing shines against the matte finish of the paint is scrumptious!

The texture in the black paper was tactile heaven!  I loved it on the edge so much that I just had to add a touch of it in the center.  You’ve probably guessed by now that I didn’t cut  those circles in the middle carefully… Here’s the whole set, ready to go!
