Art Every Day

November starts the Art Every Day Month 2011 challenge.  As I tried to figure out what to do I found myself paralyzed by my inner critic.  I had to find a way around that critic so I just started writing my favorite word, trust.  I wrote it in different pens.  I wrote it in different directions.  I wrote it until the page was full.  Then what?  The inktense pencils I just bought were too new so I decided I needed to break them in.  I could feel that inner critic settling down.  I began to just play with the colors and had a blast!  That is what I want my month of art to be about -playing and the fun!

Carolyn, Fantastic! Tell the I.C. “SILENCIO, POR FAVOR!” Just in case she speaks Spanish, too. I’m looking forward to the month of AED with you. Terah

What a wonderful way to start! I definitely have those days when nothing comes or I have no clue – I can see this as a great jumping off place! I have to admit that I got into zentangles (that fancy world of doodling) and that’s also a really good place to jump off. Never hurts to have a couple of slay the critic ideas in the old creative bag!

I love how you used words as form in this. It seems very meditative.

That’s a beautiful piece of artwork, and what a lovely way to sidestep your inner critic! That’s one of the things I like about AEDM–we get to have loads of artistic fun and also find new and creative ways to move past our blocks. Have a great month! I look forward to checking in again.

I really like your post – this challenge IS hard in so many ways. I need a little more TRUST in myself too. I worry everyday about what I will post, if it will be worthy to show

What a great start! And such an important word..I remind myself often that Trust is key! And thank you for leaving a comment on my blog; I am new to all of this, and it was so exciting to get some feedback for AEDM!

Love it! Playing and fun–that’s my goal for AEDM, too–and I told my Inner Critic to hit the road for the month. Hopefully she’ll forget where I live come December 😉
