This week has been all about Christmas for my family so I’ll share one of our traditions.
The minute I saw this tree I had to own it. Everyone needs an upside down Christmas tree. It took my hubby a bit of work to get the presents to stay at the top – we never could get the little stuffed dog (that looked just like our actual dog) to stay up there for more than a few minutes.
Why do upside down trees make sense?
1. It is so easy to decorate since the widest part is at the top. The garland is a breeze.
2. This tree does not take up as much floor space as a regular tree.
3. You don’t need a fancy tree topper (which I always struggle with finding the right one).
4. These trees are very hard to tip over.
5. It is easier to keep the dog (especially when he’s a rambunctious puppy ) away from the ornaments.
Good one! Valerie
Brilliant idea! I have seen this before but now you have really sold the idea. It looks fantastic…
Thanks for listing all the benefits!

Oh my! I’ve never seen an upside down Christmas Tree before, I wonder what my cats would make of it – a total ‘freak-out’ or just another climbing challenge? Maybe a bit of both 😉
It looks fab!

Ok thank you for my Monday morning smile. Got a good laugh out of me…I am still trying to get my head around it!?Julie
I’ve seen them in stores and designer displays but never in a home. I’m afraid I’m too much of a traditionalist, but your points are well taken. Happy Holidays.
Hello Carolyn,
I have a regular artificial tree. How do I install it upside down? or do I need to purchase an upside down tree in order to do this? Any advise and suggestions will be welcomed.
Thanks
Benita Smith
It is a purchased tree- it came this way.
We have had an upside down tree for over 10 years. For all the reasons you suggested. I fits perfectly in our bay window and we love it. Our tree is a half tree
attached to a metal strip on the molding between the panes. I leave it up all year and change the ornaments for the seasons.
How did he finally figure out how to keep the Christmas boxes up?
