Day 28 of Art Every Day Month already? Where has the time gone????? It has been a bit of a jumble around here – wonderful family visits, Black Friday shopping, and the chaos of life has led to lots of projects in the works. I finally have my scanner set up in a place that makes it easy to use so now I can do more digital/print hybrid projects. This is going to be very important with Christmas coming. Here are a few sneak peeks of what I’ve been up to lately (from my scanner). Things haven’t gone as planned for me – life has a way of doing that sometimes. Does that ever happen to you?
My Silhouette cutter was my friend for making my Thanksgiving decorations. They were made from paper (you can see them here). I loved the pattern in the turkeys so I decided to use them as a stencil with spray inks. I only used part of the turkey as a stencil so it didn’t scream Thanksgiving. I have had a blast just playing – perfect way to spend a Saturday during Art Every Day Month!
While making the decorations I tried watercolor paper in the Sillouette. Didn’t cut all the way through the paper but I couldn’t throw it out. Leftovers are such fun to play with because there is NO FEAR of ruining, messing up, damaging, wasting, etc. -it is just exploration!
Just a bit of brown spray ink and the design popped out! I think I am going to have fun exploring how my Silhouette can create backgrounds!
My art for today’s Art Every Day Month? Performance art with photography. What happens at our house when there are 4 playful dogs? Poker, of course. This was our Thanksgiving fun. The dogs were very accommodating – they knew treats were coming. Tess, the cutie on the left has a duct tape “cigar” that was covered in peanut butter to encourage her to keep it in her mouth. Pure silliness that kept us laughing the rest of the day!
