Using alcohol inks on a gel plate can create a very dreamy, cloud-like print. These are quick prints to make and something that I would struggle to create using a paint brush. But with a gel plate, it’s easy! I’m using Kristie Taylor alcohol inks in Persephone Purple, Thalia Turquoise, and Brigit Blue on a Gel Press plate.

Carolyn, Thank you for this demonstration. I have a whole lot of alcohol inks and acrylic paint. It never occurred to me to mix them on the gel plate.
Oh wow! Great idea. I had tried alcohol ink on the plate before, but didn’t think about mixing it with the paint to make it a little more pastel and toned down from the vibrancy of pure ink. Thanks for another great tutorial.
I loved this. It’s incredible that you can combine acrylic paints & alcohol inks. I love the soft results. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! Such a beautiful difference each print was! Never thought of mixing alcohol inks and simple water based acrylic paints! Makes me want to go PLAY!

Not used alcohol inks before. How do you clean them off the gel plate ? Do they not stain ?
