You have no idea how surprised the woman was next to me when I found Velcro dots in WalMart. Ā I did get a bit excited about it… maybe I shouldn’t have made so much noise…Then I found some round silicon feet in a junk store. Ā More excitement that only Gelli platers can fully understand. Ā In today’s video I am turning those circles into texture tools/stamps for my Gelli Plate!
You can watch the video on YouTube here.
My Gelli Printing Workshop is now being offered atĀ iCreateFlix!
In this workshop you will be looking over shoulder as I use my Gelli Plate. Ā I’ll show you how I keep from making mud, how to use a stencil in many many different ways, how to turn the ugly prints into your favorite prints, Ā technique after technique for making unique prints with the Gelli Plate and more! Ā Over 7 hours of Gelli printing instruction filled with in-depth techniques all available to you now for only $69.00. Ā You can work at your own pace and watch it as many times as you want!
To all of you who have already signed up for my Gelli Printing workshop, this is the exact same class. Those who are currently enrolled in my workshop here nothing will change for you. Ā New sign ups will be iCreateFlix.
And, there is a new workshop coming soon too. Ā My staff of little elves are getting it all ready. Ā Okay, no little elves, but I am filming and preparing! Ā I’ll have more details soon.

Hi Carolyn
Looking forward to another month of gelatin monoprinting fun :).
Stay inspired!
Carolyn…can always count on you to get me inspired and craving time with my Gelli plate. So glad it’s a long weekend here in Canada so that I have an extra day to play! Laughed so hard at your description of getting excited in the hardware store…I’ve done that too and the looks on the men’s faces are priceless when I find something really cool and squeal with delight (I guess men just don’t get that excited over hardware supplies LOL)
GREAT video. Love finding things to make textures and prints with.. You found gold, I must say. Those would make fun cards.
By the sea and with toys, what could be better, play away. xox
Your eyeballs popped!! That’s hilarious!!! =D I love LOVE all the beautiful papers and tags–the colors and layers are just amazing!! Who woulda thunk that Velcro and sticky dots could make such gorgeous patterns! Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi, all,
I’ve been tearing up Gelli prints and collaging them in my journal. It is so much fun. I left a link — I hope you will take a look and comment only blog. I think Carolyn’s videos are fabulous!
Donna
Comment “on my” blog, not “only”. I hate it when that happens!
LOL! I can fully understand your excitement. I find myself looking at the strangest things in a completely new way since I have the plate. Thank you so much for hosting the partys and tireless commenting on the countless blogs. Suzanne xx
What is it about the Gelli plate that demands you experiment?
I have a whole host of oddball things that I feel sure will work, but the time to play is hard to find.
Love the inspiration I find here every month.

Love the velcro idea! Will have to go get some and play!!!
Now that I am back doing Mail Art I have a ton more ideas for the Gelli plate to try… and only a week more of vacation! Better get playing!!
As always, thanks for hosting this linky party Carolyn!
Beautiful results!
Thank you for your video – now I finally understand what gelli plates are!!! they’re everywhere in art blog land and I never really knew what anyone was talking about! I’ve been enlightened!
Me again š Thank you so much for your very kind comment, I feel chuffed š The one with the pencils and the bird is my favorite, too š

Love those rubber feet and velcro dots… another whole section of the store to wander through…. Loved how your prints turned out.
I get e cited about velcro simply because its cool and useful. But you have elevated it to a whole new artform!
Love your gellis! <3 Awesome video!
Oh Carolyn, now how brilliant are you! (as always! lol) I love the velcro idea. The art is such a wonderful color as well. Heartfully yours my friend, Samara
I really love, what you do with the Gelli Plate. Thank you for the inspiration!
velcro who would’d thunk, lol
Thanks for the inspiration! I have those velcro dots in the house right now, wonder where they’ll end up ….
I just can’t stay off that gelli plate! This time, gelli printing ATC backgrounds!
just discoverd this blog and really enjoyed all the art that is linked up. I will be visiting a lot
Lot’s of “wonderfulness” here, Carolyn. Thank you for sharing.
Oooh, now I have a use for all those sticky-back felt circles that come with flat-pack furniture! I must have nearly as many of those as you have Q-tips š
Fabulous video. Love your trick with the sticky circles!
I like that, ‘how to keep from making mud’ sometimes things just don’t work out well. You always have great art and your experiments look like so much fun. Blessings, Janet PPF
Carol, thanks for the chance to post our work. Love your Blog and videos and now I can view others’ work too!

Carol, I posted two, so I’ll comment twice. Keep those videos coming; they are fabulous because you have a great and honest approach to teaching. Those kids at school are going to miss you, I’ll bet.

Wonderful things happening with this gelli plate.
used some gelli prints to make a gift wrap….
After stamping on my Gelli printed fabric and quilting it, I made some small zipper bags. I like to use my Gelli printed cardstock to make envelopes with matching notecards.
I had fun with my plate this week. I am using catalyst wedges and they are awesome. Just found out about this group. I love to share.
