Just about anything can become a pattern making tool on a Gel Press Plate as you’ll see in the video when I use a wine glass and a rope. It is such fun to experiment around with anything in arm’s reach and see what it will create. Plus in the video, you’ll see the trick to layering your prints!

Look around your home and see what you have. Just a scrap of rope from the garage made a wonderful pattern of circles. Lids from empty containers, leaves, lace doilies, paper clips, keys, and anything else in the kitchen junk drawer can create a pattern on a Gel Press plate!
That piece of book paper on the side of my print…well that is brayer magic! Sometimes just cleaning off the brayer can make wonderful pieces of paper and they coordinate perfectly with each other. I used to buy lots of patterned papers, but now I prefer to make my own.
